Animal Shelter Support

Since the 1930s, Halifax Humane Society has been dedicated to protecting animals from cruelty, neglect, and exploitation. As a 501(c)(3) public charity, we serve Volusia County—including Daytona Beach and surrounding communities—through adoption, spay/neuter, and community outreach programs. With facilities like the Lohman Pet Adoption Center and the Redinger Spay & Neuter Clinic, we care for more than 15,000 animals every year. Join the Mission – Volunteer with Halifax Humane Society.

Volunteering in the animal shelter is one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences at Halifax Humane Society.  Be part of the daily lifesaving work in our shelter! Opportunities in this program area include participating in every aspect of shelter operations, helping with pet adoptions at both shelter and off-site locations, staffing the front desk, photo shoots to promote pet adoptions, promoting Petco Love Lost, our lost
and found service, ensuring the shelter's laundry needs are met, and assisting in our retail pet supply store. There's never a dull moment—and always a way to make a difference.
