The event is black-tie, and guests are encouraged to wear formal attire. While elegant evening wear is entirely appropriate, we welcome those who wish to embrace the theme with refined, glamorous touches. Volunteers are required to dress in black attire. Tie, bow ties and jackets are encouraged but not required for volunteers. Ladies are encouraged to wear formal black dresses or black slacks and a blouse. The Halifax Humane Society foster home program aims to place the most vulnerable and at-risk animals arriving at the shelter into temporary, volunteer foster homes. Foster animals remain with the foster families until they heal or are old enough and can be adopted into loving homes. This program is essential for both the animals and the shelter, as it enhances the overall adoption process and reduces stress for the animals.
